American Express Membership Rewards - Platinum Card is Too Sticky For Me to Use

Got the mrs. and my Plat updated cards in the mail. Peeled off the sticker after calling the activation line. It was so sticky, beyond any other cc I ever got and I tried everything to remove the glue: water, googone, 409, rubbing it. I got the glue off after following the above 4 steps, but it is still so sticky that it sticks to other cc, paper, your fingers etc. Anyone eles have this problem. Don't you think that the cc companies would have mastered the glue after all these years.

Note when I took the cc out of the mail it was a damp day and the envelope was somewhat wet--I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Try rubbing alcohol

Try a squirt of WD-40. I've used it many times to dissolve glues of this nature.

Or, you can return it back and request for the Centurion card for the inconveniences the Plat card has caused http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
