This seems to be a good benefit - one free night at each property per year when used in conjunction with a paid stay. Does anyone know if it's only valid if you pay rack rate for the paid night? Otherwise, it's a good deal for my next weekend trip to New York!

As far as I was told, it is valid with the Amex rate but not once per year at each property but only once per year at a Mandarin Hotel of your choice, which would still be ok for your weekend trip.

Its once per year per property, with the coupons you should have received in the mail. Only on the FHR rate.
Looks like the offer is more limited for German cards.

Once a year per property? I allways assumes it to be once a year at Mandarin as a chain... I made use of it once in New York. FHR rate, upgrade to huge Suite -- and one nite free. Not too bad, that. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif (Without any coupons, TA just had to reconfirm).

I haven't received any coupons, but the offer was prominently mentioned in the last UK Centurion offers magazine, which I recieved in the last few weeks.
