My Starwood AMEX doesn't have CDW coverage in Ireland. Is there an AMEX (or Gold VISA/MC) card that does?
I'm searching the fine print of my cards and finding none.
Thank you for any assistance!

No as far I know only Diners Club does, used mine there last Oct - no problem.
(When you drive in Ireland you will see why)

Wow -- I never knew this. Was this changed recently or has it always been this way? I thought my platinum card got me secondary coverage in the US and primary coverage anywhere else... looks like I need to read the fine print again.

Dinners Club is the only card that will cover you in Ireland. I suggest that you call Am. Ex. and Visa, they will mail you a "coverage" letter that will list the counties that are NOT covered, there are several. I only remember Ireland.

Been like that for a few years now.
Aslo add to list where Amex does not cover Jamaica and Italy.

I'm glad there is an answer, as the $95 annual fee (and the 12k bonus miles) looks pretty good compared to $15-20/day for 10 days.
Thank you for your help!

Does this only apply to Amex cards issued in the U.S.A.?

Sorry I an unable to answer that question since I have a US card. The omission of the countries listed are most likely due to the high number of claims Amex must have had (and having driven in all the 3 mentioned it is not at all hard to understand why) so I would presume it applies to most cards.
