American Express Membership Rewards - Amex Conversion 2:1???

This morning my wife's 2003 Membership Rewards brochure arrived, and it shows that one gets 1000 miles for transfer of 2000 Membership Rewards points. I am pretty sure that the brochures from prior years were a 1000 points = 1000 miles. I've searched this thread and found several discussions of difference in various Amex programs--with the options one being a 2:1 program, but it appears that Amex is now changing the conversion rate even for those who are holders of high level cards. My wife an Amex platinum card. Does anyone know whether there really is a change, or might they have mailed out the wrong brochure, the one they send to those on the Options card?

Which program are you talking about converting MR points to? Is this for a US based card billed in US dollars?

Yes, this is an American Express regular (not Delta) platinum card.

The conversion rate is still 1 to 1 for all card holders with Membership Rewards. The 2 to 1 rate is for the new Amex card with Rewards.
