When do membership rewards points actually get posted to the account? My statement cycles at the end of each month, and I bought savings bonds in mid-November. Every time I call American Express, I get a different answer, with some talking about points pending, while others don't really seem to know. Nobody can answer my question about when points for an 11/15 purchase will actually show up, though.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
According to the Amex website:
"Points pending are points for the charges on your most recent Card billing statement. These points become available as soon as your next Card billing statement is mailed (assuming you've paid your current bill in full prior to the "payment due" date). Pending points may also include charges for which payment is 30 to 60 days overdue."
Based on the above, points for your November spending become available at the end of December.
Hope this helps.
FG.

In practice, I find my MR points post between 2 to 7 days after the billing cycle closes.
Until recently, I got the impression Amex waited for the preceding cycle's payment to be made (I pay all my Amex bills online) before posting the points, at least if one wanted the points quickly.
Recently my MR points have posted before I made any payments.
