American Express Membership Rewards - Departures Magazine...

I recently found out that Departures Magazine now sells for $10.00 per issue and is available to any AMEX cardmember. No longer is it an exclusive publication for Plat/Cent.

Additionally those Plat/Cent members that do not want to receive the magazine, can now get a $5 credit per issue. An annual subscription is $35 and includes seven issues per year. The subscription is still included in Plat/Cent annual fees.

Departures magazine is a bit of a joke. It is available online for anyone who wants to read it. There is a bit of a joke log-in screen but you can enter any name and any number...it doesn't check...and read the magazine.

Yeah, what is the deal with this. I would like to get a gift subscrption for someone. The details were very light.

Is it $10 for one year for the gift person, or for the rest of the time that the gift giver is a PLT/CENT card member?

Also they for some reason they ask you to fill out your name, and the presumably your address, but then how would the gift subscription get sent.

The whole thing is a mess, but I would like to take advantage of it.
