American Express Membership Rewards - Anyone had trouble getting their AMEX DELTA double miles?

Has anyone had problems getting credited the double miles from the double miles promotion delta AMEX had on all purchases from (I think) 7/15-8/15?

I just called AMEX and they said they have no record of my registering for that promotion, although I KNOW I did, probably more than once knowing me for good measure

A few questions if you guys don't mind:

1) When exactly were the AMEX delta double miles promotions this year?

2) When did you guys get credited?

3) Has anyone had similar trouble?

Thanks!

I know the feeling. They said the same thing to me.. "No enrollment" for the Double Miles on Everything Promotion, July 15th through August 15th, 2002.

I know that I did enroll online and I've been waiting the 12 weeks since August for the miles to post and nothing.

My first call to Amex in November resulted in them saying that I didn't enroll and that I would get a letter in the mail with an answer after they conduct an investigation. The letter was to arrive 7-10 days. No letter in the mail for over 2 weeks.

Today I called and I did find someone that researched it to tell me that there wasn't enrollment for my account. I stated my case that I did enroll and now they've opened up another case which they send to some other department to evaluate. I'm assuming that this is going to end up the same as the first call with no miles in my account and Amex saying that I didn't enroll. However, I did tell the rep that they should note in my account that I will be closing my Amex accounts if they do not do the right thing. The rep countered by saying that this is a Delta issue and that Amex did nothing wrong. We'll see what happens.

I'm interested in finding out what I should expect based on other's experiences with this Amex/Delta partnership.

My problem is somewhat different. I've received double miles on some purchases but not others even though it was supposed to be "Double on Everything". I've just been too busy to call and explain it all to a CSR...on second thought, maybe that's what they want.

When I enroll online, I save the screen that says "Thanks for enrolling in the (name of promotion)".

I've got my copy ready to go in when the 8 weeks have passed since the end of the 15% bonus on Amex transfers.

One reason there's so much confusion is because my experience is that no one at Delta (or AMEX) can tell if you have registered while there is still time to do so. It wouldn't seem that tough to have that info available on the CSR screens.

My bonus miles hit my DL account on 11/7; they were on my 11/26 Amex statement - I had to call Amex to get them to break it down.

American Express' promotion are very confusing. They had at least four:
1. Double miles on weekends,
2. Triple Miles for every eligible dollar you spend on your Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from October 1 to October 31, 2002.
3. Low Prices and Double Miles at Wal-Mart Now more than ever, it pays to shop at Wal-Mart. From June 15 through July 31, 2002
4. Double Miles on Everything with your Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from July 15 to August 15, 2002. For complete promotional details close this window and refer to www.americanexpress.com/deltaoffers. (http://www.americanexpress.com/deltaoffers.)

Did I get all the miles? I don't know, actually, it's almost impossible to check this. However, I recognized that I got extra mileage credits in the middle of statement cycles.

I agree - it is if you try to piece it together on your own. Every month where I can't reconcile the miles on my Amex statement with my spending (which is more often than not mostly because of all the promos), I call them - turns out the miles have always posted correctly.

Thanks, that let's me feel good! I never called, I could not imagen that an agent could sort this mass out.

To clarify, they can tell you how many bonus miles were awarded for one-time promotions and also for the always-double-miles charges by category: home improvement, gas, supermarket, etc. From there, it's fairly easy to match to the charges on your statement.

The following is my method on how to figure AMEX's calculations for Delta miles.

If you have your statement in front of you, mark next to each entry how many miles you should have. Round up if your charge is more than .50, round down if less. Note which entries qualify for double miles and add again your ROUNDED mileage. Now total everything up. It should equal the miles given.

Any double or triple promo miles are added into the total at a later date; make sure you know that period's expected total by using the same calculation on prior statements and back that figure out.

It certainly is a chore ~ it should be clear and automatic...
