American Express Membership Rewards - Experiences/Treatment with FHR in Paris?

I am thinking of booking either the George V or Plaza Athenee for a weekend in January. Does anyone have any experiences to relate with regard to treatment under the FHR program? I normally do the Crillon, but need to stay closer to friend's apartment this time.

I like the Athenee but would really like to try the George V. Am just wondering about upgrade success, amenities, etc.
