Hi DH,

Thanks for the info. I'll be in New York during that time frame. I'll likely have considerably more than $250 in charges to my card while there.

I could use a set of binoculars. The price is especially good! :-)

The only annoying thing about it is that we actually have to send in CC receipts to get the binoculars.

Thanks again!

I agree., I would imagine they could electronically verify the $250+ charges in those areas. I am curious if residents are restricted. It doesn't say so, so I guess not. You would think this would be more of a encourage tourism promotion to the NE.

What's the time frame for this and is a signup necessary? Couldn't find that info on the site.

This offer is good for purchases in several northeastern cities--not just NYC.

Does anyone know if the binoculars offer applies only to regular AMEX cards, or does it also apply to Delta AMEX? Also, the link posted above lists the binoculars promotion, but provides no details of rules or how to submit receipts for it. Is there another link to this info which someone could post?

Yesterday at a tire and repair shop I found plenty vouchers: "... spend $350 on Amexco and you get an emergency kit (for the car) ..."
The kit on the photo looked good. You have to mail in the voucher and invoice to Amexco Ft. Lauderdale.

If you review my post above, I did post the terms of this promotion and how you go about sending in receipts, etc.
You can also find them on your own by clicking here. (http://travel.americanexpress.com/travel/personal/at_a_glance/landingPages.asp?LPID=7) , then selecting the city of choice(i.e. Eastern PA) and then click where it says "Click here to learn more about PA: Eastern PA Offers", Scroll down and there you go.

It doesn't specify which card products, so I am assuming all US based card products qualify.

Maybe I'm the only one who thought this when I read the subject, but when I saw "in NE" I read that as "in New England" (because "in Northeast" isn't proper grammar) ... Of course I was then confused by talk of NYC since NYC is not typically considered part of New England ...

This is actually the Northeast, and there is a detailed list of eligible locales in the link in the first post. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

One more question: does the money have to be spent in Manhattan or anywhere in the five boroughs of New York City?

Beckles,
Please execuse my ignorance. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif I'll try to distinguish from NE and NE from now on. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I just mailed my receipt (hotel stay in Phila) that more than covered the $250 minimum required for the new binoculars. We'll see how long before I get it (it says 4-6 weeks on the website).

Mine are HERE. Nice little pair, better than I expected for a free pair.

Took about 4 weeks from mailing of proof.

got mine in yesterdays mail. Not what I expected I thought that they would be better than a pair of toy ones, they are but only slightly better IMO.

Yea they were free except for the .37 stamp, but dont see them as good for too much I have a good pair and was hoping they would be a good supplement to them.NOT.

So I guess I was the only one to have thought you were using a postal abbreviation? I just wasn't sure how to spend $250 in Nebraska. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Received mine today, only took about 4 weeks. I got a 2 fer 1 gift. Hubby can use them for keeping an eye on the dog lot several hundred feet away (or the neighbors pool area!) and I can use the little bag they came in for makeup. OH, I just remembered, our anniversary is next month. Shhh...don't tell hubby about his gift. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Seriously, the binoculars are okay and thanks to DH for posting this offer.

I too just received mine. Not a bad deal for a measly $250 in spending. I have some problems with them given I wear glasses, but they are a cute little pair and the price was right.

Thanks AmEx!

anybody know if you have to submit your actual receipts, or will a copy of the receipts or your credit card statement suffice instead? i usually like to hang onto my receipts for warranty/tax purposes.
