hi i need 120 k united miles for a business class intl. ticket, the way united works (from what they tell me) i can't transfer miles from someone but get the whole 120 k (in essence have someone get the ticket for me).
i can offer continental or any american express membership rewards partners points in return (various airlines and hotels, etc.). let me know if interested. thanks.

For these type of transactions it is better to post your request on the Coupon Connection.

Another evil plot for world domination through the use of points and miles.

BTW, you should also look into the * Alliance forum and check out the new *A award chart. You can now book about any award ticket on any *A carrier (or combination of *A carriers) using any *A carrier.

If you transfer your Amex points to a partner *A carrier at 1:1, you can then book a United flight with no penalty. I haven't checked which *A carriers are Amex partners in a long while, but I think there are at least two.

This will also obviate your miles swap problem.

ANA and Mexicana are MR partners and *A partners. US Air is now codesharing with UA and I believe miles from the US account can be used for UA flights (maybe upgrades?)

I thought that the US/UA deal had not been in effect yet, and also don't know if the recent US chapter 11 will affect the deal.

guarav,

If you still need to do this, consult the Amtrak thread for the AMEX -> CO -> Amtrak -> UA switch.
