It might be "free" for the first year - but in the end it´s nothing but charging the annual fee at the end of the first year instead of the beginning, if you keep the card.

The qualiflyer offer was mailed to our house - I could scan it perhaps this evening, if someone wants it.

I got an offer for a free Amex Gold card by Hilton Hhonors. My dad got no invitation and he is also a Hhonors Gold...So it seems to be targeted and the my name was already printed on the opening letter so that no other person is able to use it...
