American Express Membership Rewards - Anyone know timing for Japan Centurion?

There are many many rumors about the Centurion release from AMEX Japan
but no one knows. Customer service is not that helpfull ;) Was wondering
if anyone had any idea of when it would be introduced in Japan.

I have heard nothing about an upcoming release of Centurion in Japan.

Australia was meant to be next, but Switzerland came first. To set up Centurion in a new country is quite a big task and will take a lot of planning.

From what I can recall, AmEx Platinum in Japan is still very much invitation only, its not quite the open party that is the case in the USA or UK.

You could always try for an International Dollar Centurion card (http://www10.americanexpress.com/sif/cda/page/0,1641,10348,00.asp) if you really want a Centurion Card. Its serviced out of the UK and pretty much has the same benefits as the UK card.

My friend spoke with Platinum card service about the Centurion card
in Japan and the rep told him unofficially that it would be available
in the end of this year. Do you really believe it? Anyway I'll keep my
fingers crossed for now;-)
