Hi,

I had a question about AMEX. I hear that with AMEX you can:
1) Transfer points to a mileage program (like United MP) and then issue a ticket from the mileage program. Or,

2) You, if you have enough points, have AMEX issue a reward ticket directly. In this case, are there any blackout dates?

I know that airlines have blackout dates for their rewards. Just wondering if AMEX does also.

Thanks a bunch!

Richard

1. UA does not participate in MR.

2. MR Plus members can redeem points for a purchased ticket up to a certain value with no blackout dates.

While UA does not participate, BD does, so sign up with them and book a UA flight within *A.

I have found that you are usually better off transferring into a participating FF programme and then redirecting the miles to use in conjunction with a FF programme that you are a member of.
