Last I heard about this was that American Express Co. was trying to 'convince' Delta to partner up for CRC Access. However Delta's team is not convinced enough it's a profitable and worthwhile thing to do.
However AmEx Co. is focusing more on the potential that Platinum/Centurion members will indeed fly Delta more and AmEx is trying to stear Delta away from numbers/figures on the matter.
I was told this in July 2001. I don't know where it stands now. It may be more likely now than ever, due to this unbelievable partnership between these airlines.
