Another customer service issue:
Apparently Amex is now forwarding callers to what sounds like India. I realize many companies do this to save money, but I always considered the $150 a year I pay to be mainly for the better customer service aspects that Amex has usually provided, and one of those aspects that I want is to speak to someone that I can understand.
Now beforew I get attacked, I want to state that I'm not picking on the Indian accent, and the people usually seem perfectly polite and well trained. But it is often hard for me to understand what they are saying, just as it would be if the calls were being forwarded to the UK or Australia. Yes, I know that these countries, including India, speak more proper English than we do here, but the bottom line is that I want to speak to someone that speaks the same "bad" English and has the same American accent as I do.
That said, does anyone know of any particular customer service numbers that won't be forwarded to another country?
