The US Centuron card was featured in the morning talk show "The View" which shows on ABC at 11 AM ET USA. They usually show a re-run of the show the next day in the A&E channel in the late afternoon ET.

It was a segement on the show about Celebrity secrets. In additon to gadgets and luggage that the celebrities have (the Hermes stuff looked very clean-cut and nice) they showed the "Black" card as they said. The lady from outside the show who presented this stuff said that is costs about $1000 which we know is not true from this board.

The listed 3 celebrtes that have it, including Star Jones, who is part of "The View's" groups of ladies. That was about all they said. Nothing in terms of benefits, but they did say that you can get this by invitation only and jokingly said you can only get it if you spend too much and that you can buy anything with this card, but you may not be able to pay for it in the end.

I just thought all of you Centurion lovers (me included) out there would be interested to see this.

Is this the first television/movie appearance of this card?

Star quickly put an end to the Centurian discussion when a question was asked how one qualifies for the card. I guess there's a difference when a business person charges $250K to the card versus a celebrity. This is particularly true given the audience to which the View is targeted.

Not necessarily! About two years ago, a senior exec at Amex let it slip that a certain top name comedian who is a company paid celebrity spokesperson (and used to have a #1 rated comedy on TV), spends like crazy on his Centurion Card. And, his new wife even spends more than him on her supp. Centurion Card. ALthough, they are not spending for business reasons as you stated in your post.

Apparently Seinfeld wasn't even told of the Centurion launch; when he heard of it he made the call. Most people still think the AMEX Platinum is the top.

My guess is that Star didn't want her audience to know that she charges in excess of $250K a year.
