I frequently travel to Europe and would like to get a Euro-denominated card?
Is it possible with AmEx?
what about other CCs?

It can be done with an LH M&M Visa/MC card. One must have a bank account in the country of card origin that allows direct deduction. Check the individual country LH sites for card availability.

But how can a non-resident open a euro-based account in, ket's say, France?
Don't the require some kind of local SSN?
At least here in US, non-residents have difficulties with opening accounts.

When opening my UK based Plat->Centurion account, I did not have to have a UK adress, and copy of my ID/passport was sufficient together with letter of recommendation from Amex Norway.

It is funny...
I want to send a question to Amex France about how to get a euro card - though I speak Fench could not find an e-mail or web-based contacts page. Am I missing something?
