American Express Membership Rewards - Membership Rewards and Latin Pass

I'm trying to transfer Membership Reward points to get a free ticket on Taca. I know AMEX says Latin Pass is a member but the Latin Pass website is down so I haven't joined yet. Has anyone ever tried this before? Does Latin Pass still exist? I also joined Distancia-the Taca frequent flyer program. Does anyone know if I can transfer Mem. Rew. points straight into that That might simplify my problem?

Yes, LatinPass still exists. Call (800)44-LATIN (445-2846) to enroll in the LP program. You will not be able to transfer MR points to GrupoTaca (only to LP).
