If Amex still offers this, what is the limit?

I am considering upgrading my Amex card to the $300 Plat. and this is a major consideration. I saw that the IATA offers $50K in coverage W/$99 - Silver membership.

How much is Amex coverage? ,if at all,
I thought that $50K was skimpy.

The Amex Info is very vauge with no $ amount mentioned. Has the benefit been dilouted or reduced. I seem to recall more specifics and prominance previously. I think also there was a dollar $ previously mentioned?

In any event is the $50K limit offered by IATA for $99-Sufficiant?

Is it skimpy? I don't know ... how much does a private jet half way around the world cost to charter one-way. That's pretty much worst case for medical evacuation I would think ... Can't imagine that's a whole lot more than $50k ...

There is no specific limit for evacuation, only a limit for all medical costs together
(this limit is set to $6,500,000 for my european Centurion, it could be a little bit less for Plat, still enough for any kind of evacuation).

Amex and the insurer choose the way people are evacuated (scheduled flight, with or without special medical assistance, or private jet if necessary).
