I wonder what experience other Centurion members made when requesting Centurion card to arrange for tickets to cultural events. So far, I was very lucky: last year, Centurion got me two tickets for all four nights at the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth (where the average waiting time is about seven years) and I got my tickets for the opera festival in Glyndebourne as well. On other occassions, Centurion service always got me any ticket I needed for any show in London.
Would like to hear any experience of other cardmembers in this respect.

I don't have any experience, but did you have to pay more than full price for these tickets to the events, or just the regular ticket price, or the ticket price and the small fee, if there is one to Centurion (Concierge?) Thanks.

I tried them for Broadway tickets. No help. Something about rules preventing them from arranging tickets in New York. Anyone familiar with this?

Recently, I have used CTS Concierge to aquire tickets to various events. 1) Moulin Rouge in Paris..2) Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow.
To answer the question of the original poster..Yes, I think I paid more for the tickets than what the 'street price' may have been..but at the 'end of the day' AMEX came thru and got them for me without hassle and worry.

I paid slightly more - in the case of Bayreuth festival the difference was about 20 per cent but I prefer to pay some extra money rather than wait for some six seven years.
As for London shows, I got tickets at the published price - no supplements.

I've tried the Centurion Concierge for tickets to the show "O" in Bellagio, Las Vegas! Their answer was "Sorry Sir, you'll have to call Ticket Master yourself". I don't mind paying for an extra servicing fees! But this was one request they couldn't accomplished!

They can't get tickets in NY - It's the law. (Scalping that is.) And, for some reason they can't get any in Vegas - go figure. Most other places I've had good luck - especially at Amex sponsored events

That is strange about not being able to get tickets for "O" at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. They were able to get me two tickets for "O". I had planned a surprise trip for a quick Valentine's Day in 2000 and called Amex Centurion. They were able to not only get the tickets since I was not staying at the Bellagio but at the Four Seasons in Vegas. The tickets they got me were from the Casino's VIP High Rollers section that they don't even sell to the public. Not only that but I informed them that I would be arriving late, almost at show time and that they would hold the tickets up to show time and not the normal 2 hours before show time when they let the tickets go. The price I paid for the tickets was the regular face value. I was very impressed/happy with the service they delivered. Funny thing is that when I had AMEX Centurion reserve the room at Four Seasons they also got me a room upgrade with a full strip view for $250 a night. The room regular price was $500-$750 a night. But the kicker was when I called the Four Seasons and tried to have them arrange the tickets to "O". They are famous for getting anything for their hotel guests but they were unable. I have had the Centurion Card since it came out in the USA since October 99 and have been very happy with the card and the services that they provide.

UK Centurion impressed in first week.
On a Wednesday in october last year, saw on the web that tickets for UK tour by Kylie Minogue were going on sale on a Saturday morning at an hour that I normally do not grace http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Phoned Centurion and asked if they could get me tickets on my behalf on the Saturday. They called back later that afternoon that they had secured the tickets already, they were able also to get some more for me the week afterwards when they had all supposedly sold out. Boy did I score major brownie points with a young lady in the office who had tried desperately to get tickets!! Especially when I discovered that I am going to be sat in the VIP section http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Thanks,
Richard
