American Express Membership Rewards - SBS World Service - Still Going ????

Some of you may recall the SBS world service discussion about a year ago.

The organisation promotes a club, which promises to provide Centurion Card, Special concierge services, and other "exclusive" services.

We all assumed that the service was a conn. Well the web site is still up and operating.

I enquired as to the cost of membership, and was quoted $10,000 USD. This apparantly gets me access to all the services, and various exclusive gifts (ie. TAG watches, etx).

Anyone had any dealings with SBS world Service ???

I sent an email to amex, who refused to comment on any third parties, but the amex hyperlink is still there ???

Any thoughts ???

Well, the only link on Google to sites or groups is to a list in Ireland's Companies Registration Office.

Unfortunately, the CRO is forbidden by court order from releasing company information so that's a dead end.

It appears as though the WWW site hasn't been updated in 2 years.

Given these items, my guess is that your initial impression of this as a con was correct.

I contacted Amex's fraud dept. some time ago regarding this, and was basically blown off.. They do not seem to give a darn, as with most of their customer complaints.

It's a surprise that the site is still online..

Since an Amex card will only be issued at Amex's discretion, no third party can promise you'll get one.

If this "company" really exists, and make "real" business, you should read the fineprint.
If you pay the $10k fee, and Amex does not issue a card for you for whatever reason, do you get your money back ?
