Hi,
I have a friend who recently applied for the Delta Amex Gold card via the internet, and he paid the annual fee of $85 but was offered a good deal: charge $7500 on the card by a certain date, and they will double it (15,000 miles). That is in addition to the 10K bonus miles for signing up! This offer was not on the website when he signed up; they called him at home and informed him of the offer. I have an application here at home for the 'first year free' offer for a Gold Skymiles Amex, but before I sign up, I have 2 questions that I hope someone can answer for me. First, is it possible to get BOTH promotions (first year free AND the $7500/double miles)? Second, if you've already had a Amex skymiles card in the past (regular card, not the Gold) but cancelled it over a year ago, will they give you the full 10K when you sign up for the Gold card? I know the application says that it only applies to first time cardmembers, but I have read many posts here on FT that have indicated otherwise. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
