I've got a Amex card fro dubai and find it no use so I'm just giving it up as hey chearge me $140/year just for having the card. The bills come from Bahrain so I'm wondering if they have the same partners as Amex in the U.S.From the past,I've never seen Delta Airlines or Continental being a partner but when I checked membershiprewards.com today,I found that there were much more partners-is that only for U.S. based customers?I'd like to transfer my points to Delta.

Membership Rewards points are universal in that they're the same no matter how/who/where earned. If you have a Delta FF account you should be able to transfer your MR points in 1,000 point increments.

Are you sure that's true? The Australian Membership Rewards program only has airlines from that region--no US airlines are included.

The MR partners are definitely not universal. For instance:
- French-based MR members can transfer miles into Air France FP
- Japan-based MR members can transfer miles into JAL Mileage Bank
- one can only transfer MR miles into a US-issued Korean Air SkyPass account ('BAxxxxxxxx')
