I'm trying to find out what cards carry travel medical benfits -- the AE Platinum seems to have some kind of benefit, but it is not elaborated too much what the T&C's are -- the basic, Gold and branded cards advertise "medical and legal referral" which barring any add'l info I interpret as they'll give you addresses of doctors nearby...
Can anybody elaborate on the AE Plt benefits, or suggest other cards (AE, Visa, MC, whatever) that offer good coverage?
Having lived in Europe for the past decade, most (Gold) cards offered travel medical benefits and that was a nice plus (although all of them lacked Collission Damage, a good reason to keep the US AE even if abroad...)
BTW, has anybody tried to run medical charges thru an HMO as 'out-of-network expense', and what was the result? Any suggestions for a good source of travel health insurance besides CCs?
