currency to go at Chase.com There are threads elsewhere. You have to charge to a MC or VISA. If you have a mileage earning one you will get miles as it shows up as a purchase. You can order US Travelers Checks up to $950 4 times within a 12 month period based on first purchase. They send it to you overnight.

if you are AAA plus member you get Amex traveler's cheques commission-free. but you have to pay cash. if you use a CC it will show as cash advance.

My AAA offers them commission free, and in a number of foreign currencies, and at a very favorable (less than 1%) exchange rate.

I went to the nearest AMEX travel services office. I told them I was a cardmember and asked if they would waive the fee. I showed them my card and they did. I got the dual signiture checks with no fee. I could only get the single person checks from AAA. You must pay in cash or with a check to avoid cash advance fees.
