American Express Membership Rewards - AMEX points to Starpoints

Is there a way I can transfer my AMEX points for Starpoints in a more reasonable rate? In Canada, the exchange rate is 1000 AMEX points to 230 Starpoints. (yikes).

I noticed with Hilton, you can do a direct exchange from AMEX to Hilton points (1 AMEX to 1.3 Hilton points) or 1 AMEX -> 1 airline mile (Delta) -> 2 Hilton points.

But isn't a Starpoint much more valuable than a Hilton point?

A Starpoint is worth at least an airline mile.

Nothing you can do ... the conversion rate to hotels sucks in general. If you want Starpoints, you need to get the Starpoints card ... or the Diners Club which isn't as bad on conversions, but still not as good as the Starpoints card.
