American Express Membership Rewards - Double point for business cards

Ok here is the deal....

I'm working inbound for a Telemarketing Firm and we just switched to another call center, which we share with outbound....

Apparently AmEx is running a double membership promotion for small business corporate cards. Every purchase you make until April (if I remeber right) will receive double points...

AmEx has them call small businesses and get them to use AmEx rather than checks etc.

If anybody is interested let me know and I'll try to find out more details...

I've not heard of this promo but would love to hear more about it. You can either email me or post it here.

I would love to hear more about it too as I could start to use my Corporate AMEX card to really rack up the points! Thanks so much!

Ok... I found out a little more about the promotion I read their scripts today and apparently this promo is for SMALL BUSINESSES... Double points until April 30th 2001.
They leave an 1-800-number on answering machines for any questions.... I'll get that number in the next few days and post it (in fact I wrote it down but can't find it O http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif ) so you can call and find out if you qualify... You can just call and tell a friend, who has a business account received this message and you are calling to find out if you can receive double points.... DON'T worry they won't sell you anything!!! Apparently if you have a Corporate card and are enrolled in the membership rewards you'll receive double points....

OK THAT NUMBER IS 1-800-895-5176

Well, I called this number, and the representative told me to call Membership Rewards to set up my card for this promotion.

Of course, the Membership Rewards representative I spoke to told me that it is a targeted promotion, and that if I have been selected there is nothing to set up, and that the points will post automatically. She would not give me the relevant bonus code.

Please let me know if anyone has better luck.

I contacted AX today about the dlb pts deal. I was told as an AX Corp Crd holder I was automatically in on the deal. The time frame is from 2/10 to 4/30. I was also told that the dbl pts balance would not show in my acct for 12 to 14 wks and that I should keep checking with AX Rewards to track. As my AX runs about 100k a month I will be dogging them for the bonus. I'll post results or hope to hear frome someone who gets the dbl pts deal.

If you happen to be calling American Express about this double points program you may wish to refer to Bonus Offer #9052. The extra Membership Reward points will post at a later date than the regular points and could take up to 60 days to show up in your account.

I have yet to get a confirmation from anyone at AX about the dlb MR. I called the posted 800 no, an automated attendant kept coming on to say all associates were busy, I left my phone on hold from 4pm to 9am the next morning. It stayed on hold all night with the same automated answer. I think the dbl MR may be a hoax.

I,m sorry to say I am not net savy enough to reconnect to the original thread concerning Dbl MR. I did find it posted 3/3/01 by verse99.
The number posted is the one I called and got put on indefinite hold. When I called MR cust serv and gave them the bonus code I could get no confirmation of its validity. I would appreciate someone posting a number and contact name of anyone at AX confirming this awards. ( I had about 250k, wife 50K, and Mth-in-lw 100k during this time frame).

In reply to "dahudgins", the telephone number to call is Membership Rewards at 800-297-3276. The "Bonus Offer Number" was 9052. It offered to specially selected "Small Business" AmEx card holders (Non-Optima Cards) a 100% bonus of Membership Rewards points earned during Feb/Mar/Apr of this year. The "Bonus Points" are to be distributed into the respective accounts within 90 days of the end of the program.

If your account at Mebership Rewards is not encoded with this "Bonus" code number it means that you did not receive a form letter about this program which sent only to some "Small Business" account holders.
