I need to get box seats for the Ericsson Open on March 28th. On the Open website there are only Upper this and Upper that. Can I call the Concierge line and have them get box seats for me even though they may be sold out online? Isn't this what the Concirge is for, to get sold-out tickets to an sporting event.
Can they actually get you the information time, place, prices etc.. and then buy them for you and then mail them.
How much beter is the Centurion Concierge?
Thanks.

Sold out means sould out. Even the Amex concierges cant change that. (Not so, if they have some seats reserved for Plat and Cent Members, which they have somtimes.) But you can ask them to find out if there are places available and how much they are.
Why don't you call them directly ????????????

AMEX has a relationship with a ticket broker that can get whatever you need.

BS they can get what you need ...
Last time I tried to get tickets, they couldn't ... apparently they can't in NY (City ... or State ... I don't know, one of the two), but that's obviously a bit of a disadvantage ...

They do have good relationships with ticket brokers, I have gotten tickets to sold out shows. Of course, you have to pay sometimes double face value for it, but then, how important is it to see your game?
Of course doc - they tried to sell me World Series bleacher seats at Shea for like $900.
Yes, they do have to deal with that 10% crap rule in NY and NJ. And yes, it's very annoying.

Not at all!
I'm in the concert biz, and there's ALWAYS a pair. You may need to know someone, and pay a premium, but there's ALWAYS seats held until the last second at most venues.

How about air tickets? Check out flights.com, and you'll find plenty of half price business class tickets. And there are other similar sites. With the exception of the onboard cruise credits, which can virtually pay your annual fee, given the number of platinums they now have, it's unlikely you can't do the same things, and save the 300 bucks. My general experience, before I dumped the card, was that if I couldn't get something, they generally couldn't either. That's not the way it was originally. In the case of hotels, many travel agents have formed consortiums like "Virtuoso" to give clients the same amenities, like upgrades and late checkouts. In almost every case, when Amex booked me the "platinum rate" in a hotel, I found a lower one at the same place by calling direct.

I was told 3 days ago when I wanted tickets for a Joe Jackson concert, that Amex no longer handles concert tickets because of the new rules about price gouging. I don't kow if there are other types of tix they can get. HOWEVER If they are sponsoring hte event (which i think is the case w/ the Ericsson Open) they will have seats even when the eveet is sold out.
I was told this by the platinum Cncierge.

They are supposedly one of the more reliable ticket vendors/brokers but I have only used them once, as I truly hate to pay the incredibly inflated prices and generally avoid these folks like the Plague!
