We have to pay HK$5500 (U$705) for anual fee of AMEX plat card in Hong Kong while the other parts of the world pay less. I think the privileges are more or less the same.

Here is what my insider told me, when I asked about the high fees in other countries:
"Yes, interesting... I think it might be due to service delivery in a foreign country. The same is for the Platinum and Centurian card in Europe and the Personal card and the
Membership Rewards program in Canada (they are cheaper than the US)..."

3,400 FRF (US$ 480) fee for my french Amex Plat...with less service than other european Plats : no Priority Pass membership !
The Platinum card fee in France is 3 times higher than the Gold card fee, which is 3 times higher than the green card...

"Actually, the Centurion card was first introduced in the UK in June '99 - about
a year before it was introduced in the US... Sorry, but all I can find is UK launch - not sure of any other countries"
