I have given 4 of my employees visa cards (issued by a local bank)for travel/entertainment expenxes for which I gain NO benefits.

Should I consider issuing mem. awards or other cards so I can start accruing the points/miles?

880, Since you are not receiving any benefits from your current VISA card, I would recommend the American Express Rewards Plus Gold card.

Although the annual membership fee is somewhat pricey at $150.00, it includes the membership fee for MR and you can request up to 3 additional cards, for a total of 4, at no additional cost. I have requested these additional cards for my employees, who use them for work related purposes only and I earn all the points associated with all the charges. Points add up quickly from all the charges and there is no annual limit. In addition, since this is an enhanced card, you receive 2 pts per dollar with certain merchants for the first year and 1.5 pts per dollar for every year thereafter. Amex lists more details on this card on their website.

I believe that Citibank also has a business visa card which does the same thing for you. It is cheaper and accepted at many more places (though all you get is American miles).

Happy mileage hunting!

Actually, I got five of my employees Corporate Gold cards and hooked all of them to my MR account.

The Citibank card is either a MasterCard or Visa. It's the Citibank AAdvantage Business Card. Fee is $75/$25 add'tl cards. All miles go to principal's AA acct. Also has other benefits for sm. businesses

Offer is 7,500 bonus miles: 1.888.662.7759

I have always wondered about this - since the reward points go to your personal account, to be used for your personal travel etc, how do you account for this as far as the company is concerned, especially since you may have to pay an extra fee to get the membership rewards?

I obtained an American Express Optima Sheraton Starpoints card and have designated it only for business related expenses only. The card has no annual fee and a I have obtained 20 additonal cards on the same account for all our employees also without a fee. All the starwood points accrue to me as the primary card holder. I know that the card is issued to me personally rather than to the corporation but that's mostly a function of perception. Since all the corporate cards have to be personally guaranteed the buck stops with me anyway.
