Found in the American Express website:

It looks just like a - last time I looked - now defunct web site from City Search, but that one allowed the use of other credit cards besides Amex. The appearance, and pariticpating merchants look the same.
After registering, you first look at a list of the restaurants, shops, or whatever you search for in the area you select. You click on an interesting merchant to see what type of discount they're offering, typically 15-25% when you use the Amex card. The discount credit will appear on your statement.
I used it before on the other website, but not yet from the Amex site. Had no problem with getting the credt when the statement arrived.
