American Express Membership Rewards - American Express OPTIMA Platinum

Well, In an effort to quash what little credit card debt I have left, I have found, what I think is the best deal... The American Express Optima Platinum Card...

It had a balance transfer rate of 8.90% for the life of the card!! This APR applies ONLY to balance transfers...

My plan is this...

1) Transfer balance of the one credit card to this one..

2) Continue to not use credit cards, and charge nothing on it, as to take advantage of the lifetime 8.90% rate

3) Cancel other credit card....

4) Pay off this one

5) cancel it too...

I no longer use credit cards, but rather use my AMEX Platinum for everything...

DOCTOR: Rainmain, wouldn't you feel more comfortable using your credit card?

RAINMAN: Yeah... Yeah... Credit cards suck... Yeah..

Not quite as good as the UK 4.9% balance transfer rate for life on all of the new British airways Amex cards, which is strange as the US normally beats our offering hands down, except for the proper Platinum of course http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/redface.gif)
