There is no mention anywhere about any pop-up ads.

I tried to request a CD, but the link is dead. I called the 800 number and was told that there will be no CDs until May; for now the only way to get the software is to download it.

Thanx for the info!!

Try again if you wish to order the CD, as I was able to do so. If you intend to use your download, please let us know how it works out!!

Looks like you DO have to put up with ads using this service:

Doesn't look like there is a non-Windows version. Here's what the website says about Macintosh versions :

American Express recently launched AmexOL.net in a Windows version and will evaluate response to that version during the initial phase of the service. Based on that response, American Express will determine whether to offer the service for the Macintosh operating system.

Anyone want to help them "evaluate response"??

I've been using AmexOL just about from day one (on a download) and find it very satisfactory, with just a few quirks. I have no popups or ads from this service, although there may be some that are removed by the InterMute proxy server that I use.
One of the quirks is that I do not seem to be able to manually configure it to a new dialing protocol. The kicker to this is that somehow the program configures itself (eg. it figures out things like whether to dial 9 or 8 or whatever in order to get an outside line), but you do not get and cannot use the new configuration until after you reboot.
I certainly can recommend this to anybody who is eligible.

This was the replacement for webflyernet suggested by Randy! I've tried it a few times and it's fine - especially for the price! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
