American Express Membership Rewards - threw out Centurion Card invitation!

By accident, I threw out my Centurion Card Invitation. Can I just call AMEX and ask for another or wil they refuse to send another one? To tell you the truth mine just looked like any old junk mail so I did not see it at first while skimming the mail, then when I went threoung the mail more deelply I again through it was junk mail. They certainly did not design the invitations very well.

Well, the Invitation we all got is not a letter, but a black box, delivered by Fedex, with booklets inside, two cards and stuff. You cannot oversee it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Mine was not like that, if I remember correctly. I was just like a party envelope with fancy writing and stuff.

It is not really an invitation if they just give you the booklets, and the cards right off the bat. An invitation is an asking, and then if you say yes they will send the stuff

well, kind of special invitation, i admit. only if you call to accept the new cards, you are enrolled. otherwise, you keep with your plat cards. all people got that kind of invitation so far...

A question to Joergi :

Did you receive the Centurion at the end of validity of your Plat (say, 3 or 4 weeks before) ?

ahrz: It has been 8 to 10 weeks before, but it seems, that all Centurion Cards in Germany have been released and sent out the same time, in April/May 2000

In the US, it's illegal for credit/charge card companies to send out a card unsolicited with an offer to "keep it if you like it, otherwise send it back or throw it away." There was rampant abuse by creditors in (I think) the 1970's that resulted in this legislation.

I just got a reply to an e-mail that I sent saying "I threw it out by accident." Some one will be calling me by phone, personally, very soon!

I got a call from AmEx with my invitation, nothing in the mail.

I got something in the mail - I think it was a see-thru envelope with the brochure and letter inside.
