Does the Amex Platinum Card offer some sort of Intercontinental trial membership?? Couldn't find anything on Amex web site but remember reading something at here...

If I remember correctly, AA Platinum does offer you a free Six Continents membership at Intercontinental.

Any Centurion card will get you the benefits of SCC if you mention it when booking direct with Intercont.
Done it twice, was upgraded in Cannes to a Grand Suite (from standard single)!

The Viking: OK, there are benefits like room upgrade and access to the lounge. I read that. Does that really happen? ;-) That sounds good... But this is a special booking code, not a membership in Six Continents Club. Did you try this with the Carlton in Cannes? Interesting. And you booked at Interconti directly, not with the Centurion Card Travel Service?
