I just opened my Membership Rewards statement and found a flyer offering 300 minute AT&T phone cards for 7,500 miles.
If you accept the yardstick 2 cents/mile valuation, that works out to an extortionate 50 cents/minute!

Though if you have miles to spare (like some people) this is one way to dump some miles.
Costco sells phone cards at a cost of 4.2 cents/minute.

i calculate the points at 2.5 cents each. that would mean the 300 minute card is $187!
i buy the costco card for 480 mins for 19.99 on the web site with free shipping! this is the best value i found. even if you are not a member, you pay 5% more, so what, it is still a good deal.

Big Three and Regional Bell (branded) phone cards are a rip-off. That's a 100% guarantee. If you are thinking about getting one of these cards, please consider mailing large amounts of cash to me instead.
The Costco cards are great...I'm a member there, and haven't seen a better product available off-the-shelf in a store.
www.net2phone.com (http://www.net2phone.com) offers a variety of good calling-card products for international and domestic calling. You can buy one of these cards online and use it in near real-time.
