"Arrangements are being made to return the tablet to its owner in Reno. Dye did not immediately respond to a phone message."
Seriously, is that how you think she was going to spend her "one phone call?" :D

A picture of the alleged thief... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/09/23/article-2207310-152715D8000005DC-600_306x419.jpg
Anyone recognize her?
well her story was plausible up until I read she really was using it, contrary to what she said. On a separate note I think airlines should institute a policy...."finders keepers". People would then be a lot less careless about leaving all kinds of valuables on airplanes. I always double check to be sure I have all my stuff in my bag before landing. What is it that makes people leave ipads, phones, kindles, their Bose head phones, carry on bags, and heck even lap tops on the airplane? Had a few too many drinks on the flight or what?...
If you find a $100 bill on the ground do you give it to the police or keep it? Betting most people would keep it. So you would be a thief...keeping something you found that isnt yours :/ If I found $100 bill Id keep it. If I found a wallet with a $100 bill in it Id give the wallet to the police all intact with the $100 bill inside but thats just me. And no I dont think its ok for an FA to keep ipads. Just saying it would make people less careless :)
looks like it just made the Greta VanSustern show
I am surprised she was only suspended...or is that temporary?
I am surprised she was only suspended...or is that temporary?oh Im sure thats temporary. Thats an HR nightmare. They cant legally FIRE the worker for theft until an internal investigation or a legal verdict. Id assume they will be or have been terminated by now though based on at the least violating safety and security policies of taking items home

Many states have strict requirements for firing employees legally, including things like paying the employee wages for all work performed to date, in cash if necessary. HR also usually wants to have witnesses and papers signed and many more formalities. Suspending the employee temporarily sidesteps the issue completely and allows the company time to ensure the firing is warranted, executed, and documented properly.

Wouldn't it be a union issue as well and strict rules would need to be followed.

I'm surprised that 500-800 dollar objects are lost by so many adults.
Isn't this a lesson we teach our kids?

Isn't this a lesson we teach our kids?amen! Oh wait silly me...didnt you know that once you board an aircraft lots of people think lifes values, morals, and manners are null and void. I mean for god sakes Ive watched grown adults over 40 put gum in a wrapper and then stuff it into the seat back pocket. .....I dont know if its the thin air gets to peoples head up at 30,000 feet or what it is but something about being on a plane makes many well seasoned adults act 4 years old. Never understood their etiquette or lack there of. Perhaps they have no morals and act 4 years old all the time? and I just dont see it?

Now now. I'm an intelligent adult but I'm also human and prone to being forgetful and tired. I've left things on a plane before which is why when I'm deboarding I do the wallet/phone/keys/camera pocket patdown and make sure i put my book/headsets back in my bag.
