I can't figure this one out. I had a one night stay in Miami airport hotel. Paid $52.03 via gift card and $41.67 via gift card. Only received 834 points though, not including my 20% bonus. ANy idea how this is calc'd? In the past I've always received my total bill * 10.
Rate: $79
ST Tax: $5.53
OCC TAX: $4.74
Starbuck: $29.43
Promo Credit: -$25
Gift Card: 52.03
Gift Card: 41.67

maybe:
$79+$4.43 (SBUX - promo) = $83.43 * 10 = ~834 points

Presumably the $93.70 includes various state and local taxes. What was the room rate? Could it have been very close to $83?

Per MR T&C you do not earn points on taxes. Rest of the math is basic:
$93.70 this is was your total bill according to your thread title and the gift card amounts you posted
- 5.53 less ST Tax
- 4.74 less OCC Tax
$83.43
$83.43 X 10 = 834 points
Welcome to Marriott Rewards.

Were you on a Friends & Family rate? $79 is pretty common for a F&F or possibly another rate that does not earn points besides incidental expenses.

F&F does not earn points/stay credit
