Yes you will..but you'll probably need to request it via the website. It's doubtful it will happen automatically.

A very minor point..but most likely if you're upgrading from economy you're either in domestic first or BusinessFirst.. you can't upgrade from economy to Global First (which is only offered on 3 class planes).

But... OP says this is an award ticket, so I'm guessing "upgrade" in this case just means OP decided (sometime after the original booking) to pay the extra miles for a premium cabin award. In which case it certainly could be GlobalFirst.

Is it even possible to upgrade an award ticket in any other way -- other than CPU for card holders? I don't think RPU/GPU can be applied to award tix, but I've never tried. Can't wait to be schooled on this...
