When trying to claim missing miles I get the following message

Validation errors
•Unfortunately, we cannot credit miles for this flight online. Please use the printable form to claim your miles.

I have looked but I can't find the printable form, could somebody give me a link to it, thanks.

It's on the Flying Blue page (http://www.klm.com/travel/gb_en/flying_blue/index.htm), under Claim Miles from airline partners (https://www.klm.com/travel/gb_en/flying_blue/claim_missing_miles/claim_miles_from_airline_partners/index.htm) .

It requires you to be logged into your Flying Blue account.

Thanks for that, its not an airline partner but I guess it will be ok.

Then you should use the form accessible via the "Claim Miles from non-airline partners" link.

Thanks for your input, I did look at that form but it seems to be only for hotels and car rentals etc, not for flights.

Hang on - you just said it was not an airline partner, which means it was a hotel/car rental.

If it's not an airline, then you should use the non-airline partner form.
If it is an airline, then you should use the airline partner form.

If it's an airline, but not an airline partner, then you won't get FB miles so shouldn't bother claiming.

Well I don't think much to that, its just over 18k miles rt. I booked to fly KLM but when I arrived at the airport they gave me a choice of Swiss or Lufthansa, so not only were they not able to fly me the airline, route and times I paid for but no miles too. What about my return, will they not give them aswell?

Flying Blue rules say that you will be credited for your booked flight. Thus, you can use the automatic online form with the KLM flight details (Even though you were not actually on that flight).

If that does not work you can try the Airline partner form, but make very clear that you had booked KLM and were Involuntairy rerouted on LH. Include all the KLM flight details, not the LH ones as Flying Blue cannot use these.

One advantage is that if you have a *A Frequent Flier account you can also retro claim the LH flight to that programme after you have received your KLM miles. So basically you'll get double the miles: Once Skyteam, once *A.

That sounds more like it, thanks for that.

Indeed, that is the correct advice, but we'd have got there sooner if you'd included that important information from the start!

We cannot expect much from novice flyers. They want help yet they don't know what information is relevant for the situation and what information is not.

So my advice for the OP is to post as much information as possible without damaging their privacy. But maybe this guideline is already too complex for many. :D

Good thing is that the FT community are as always so patient. ^

We can all be a clever dick and come in after after all the questions have been answered, trying to look big by making others look small :D Many thanks to those that did help and its a good thing that Verboten knows what patient is ^

I've found that KLM's Facebook support staff are pretty good at steering you in the right direction with these things. They can't actually handle the claim for you but they'll tell you exactly what you need to do so that their colleagues have no excuse for making things complicated.

I don't do Facebook but I did asked on Twitter but no reply from them, I did get a copy & paste email telling that I can do it on line. I have tried using the original ticket and flight details as advised above but its having non of it.

So call them up and explain. Not everything can be done online.

@:-) Don't forget to mention you were routed onto other carriers, but that you wish to claim the miles for the flights you were booked on.

The system can only check that the flight existed and ran and that you were checked in.

And of course it got a big fat NO to all those queries.

You are quite right, it was the biggest fattest NO

I recieved this email from them today
