Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - I wanted a seat, not to buy the plane

spurred on by a conversation on an LH flight with an FA, to the effect that I could get to the Canaries now with LH, I tried an online booking.
From UK: £3794
Condor is, I guess, the issue. A charter airline with gold plated seats?

Sounds like supply and demand is more of the issue.

I'd love to buy a plane for £3794. Sounds like a phenomenal deal.

As much as a I do not like Ryanair- recently I took a flight to Malta as they were the only nonstop option- 79 EUR all in including the "priority boarding fee" both ways.
They still have the "old" style seats which are much more comfortable than NEK although the colours inside the aircraft are very jarring.
No food to speak of in NEK and no food to speak of on Ryanair although they do keep trying to sell those little sandwiches and things.
Now that it is after September 1st no HON miles on Ryanair and nothing if you are flying Economy on LH anyway.
It wasn't that bad actually. And it was a nonstop which wins everytime.

Hmm... where did the FA get that impression? OS flies to TFS,LPA & FUE, 4U flies to TFS. But these are pure sun and beach flights on weekends with no fares filed ex GB. Maybe the FA did duty on a tuifly charter operated by LH ...
Swiss will sell you a ticket from UK to LPA (via Zurich or Geneva).

You CAN book it on the LH website for 3000 odd pounds, ex UK.
Or you can book it with two separate bookings, one on LH one on Condor for about 400 pounds via Duesseldorf. Perhaps LH know about Condor's punctuality, and thus find a sky high class for you to fly in to permit changes...?

FR, like the poor, is always with us, I suppose. 30GBP is fine- brilliant in fact- but the add-ons...!
I've flown Easyjet for a winter break to the Canaries, but never FR. EZY has sometimes even managed to get us there on the day we arrived at Gatwick. But only sometimes. Come back GB Airways...
The idea of Condor plus LH sounded a bit more reliable; guess LX plus Edelweiss will do as well.

Actually, flexible tickets on Condor are available at a very fair markup. It's 59 Euro on long distance per direction, don't know about short or medium distance. Good investment, I say, especially on the return flight. I think you can get it for one direction only, even if you book return.
