Air France Frequence Plus - Can't input my Flying Blue number on itin...

Hi all,

We are PNR of 3 PAX (SFO-CDG, in Premium Voyageur). We bought tickets in June.

I just recently obtained Flying Blue numbers for all of us.

But I can only input the Flying Blue for my wife and child, but not for myself. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Merci
Michael

That doesn't appear to make sense. If you successfully added 2 numbers, the third should be doable in an identical manner.

Please explain, step by step, how you are trying to input your own number, and please tell us the errors you receive. Please tell us, also, on which website you are doing this, and how precisely (ie which links you click on) you get to the area where you unsuccessfully attempt to add your number.

I second irishguy28's comment. I would add that if it indeed does not 'retain' your FB number, chances are that this is due to some mismatch between the way your name was registered on your reservation vs on your FB account. Any difference such as middle name etc could lead to the system not recognising the card/name match automatically (but typically solved when you manually enter your number at check in or possibly by an agent on the phone)

I recently booked for 5 people and needed to add 2 new FB numbers and I seem to remember a problem too. I was using IE so I tried Chrome and that resolved my problem.

Thanks - I'm using Chrome. I am using my middle name with the reservation but am 99% positive that Air France / Flying Blue doesn't accept a middle name. Yet my wife and baby both have Flying Blue numbers (without a middle name), and their reservation includes their middle names.

I just checked Airfrance.us and I cannot insert a middle name.

Anyway, basically in my reservation I attempted to change/modify the frequent flier information so that I could insert my FB info. After I enter the FB number and hit the "enter" button, the screen goes back to the general reservation, and again does not show my FB number.

Any other tips? We fly Thursday.

Merci

You can call the reservations number and ask them.
You can also wait until OLCI, but that means that if you have any status with Air France, it will not be displayed on your boarding pass.

I don't know of any airline that would allow the user themself to modify the name fields. Most airlines charge a fee for making such changes!

I don't think it's really a problem - unless your status entitles you to seating benefits etc that you want to claim well before check-in. You can always add it during the check-in process (check in online, should open 30 hours before your first flight, or 24 hours if it's to/from the US).

I bought a ticket with an online travel agent yesterday that didn't allow me to enter my Flying Blue number as part of the process. When I got the PNR, I went over to the KLM website, clicked on "Manage My Booking", and under the "Passengers" tab was able to add my Flying Blue number.

I just went and had a look at the same reservation on the Air France website, and my FB number does not show up there. (It says: "Frequent Flyer number: not specified"). Adding it (again) on the AF website gives me the same result as what you have experienced - it appears to go through, then when you go back to look at the reservation, it's still "Frequent Flyer number: not specified".

In your case, I would advise you to look at the reservation via KLM. You will probably see that the number is already in there. If not, add it there, on the KLM website.

It's strange that the AF site would show 2 out of 3 numbers on a single booking as having been added, but then handles the third differently. But my guess is that, even though the AF website says your number hasn't been added, that it actually has, and that it will grant you whatever status benefits you may have despite not showing your number.

You can also wait until OLCI, but that means that if you have any status with Air France, it will not be displayed on your boarding pass.

If the Flying Blue number is successfully added at any point prior to checkin - up to and including during OLCI - then the boarding pass will be generated with the number, and correct status.

Thank you - this is exactly my problem. I'm glad to know that it's not just me!

Admittedly we all have zero status but I just want to get the miles, in case we ever become regular Flying Blue users (right now we are barely maintaining gold with Star Alliance / United).

But I also figured it would be good to have these FB numbers with our flight.

Thanks!
Michael

So I am really unlucky, because for my own experience, when I try to input my Delta Skymiles number on reservation with no FF number bought by my travel agency:

Only during OLCI, I have the brief "FF DL241XXXXXXX" written on my BP without SkyPriority logo
Before OLCI, I have "DL241XXXXXXX/2 Flying Blue Elite Plus" written on my BP, with SkyPriority logo

Why would your travel agency not have your FF number?

And if they do, have you asked why they don't enter it while making bookings for you?

Anyway, even if AF/KL OLCI does not correctly recognise status and add the SkyPriority logo when dealing with DL numbers inputted at OLCI, this is not a reported issue with FB numbers, which was the original context of this thread.

I have same problem on my last flight: I called the travel agency (sorry, I can't put it...) then I called "Le Club" and it was same answer: it is not possible when ticket is confirmed and paid ...
No problem, of course, when booking at airport (but I can't use automatic desks) and miles have been credited two days after the flight (id today)

IME, AF's sytems will not accept your FF number if there is a mismatch between name and number. Check-in agents at the airport, however, can override this and force acceptance of the FF number.
