I'm going here for 4 nights myself during the Thanksgiving week to see the sights. I can't wait! I booked my ticked tonight, free ticket in C on Asian carriers. I went to the Hilton site to look at hotels. This will be out of pocket and after exhausting searches it only comes up with the Conrad downtown at a crazy per night rate. There were many Hong Kong areas to search from, but of course since I've never been there I have no idea where they are and only one pops up-the Conrad. Are there no other Hilton brand properties in the area..hampton, doubtree, HGI, etc? I'm trying to find something in my budget. Help!

Thank you!

Wow. There is only one Hilton family property in all of hong kong?

Thanks for the quick info. Perhaps I need to look elsewhere. What other Asian cities are Hilton family rich properties?

In Hong Kong: I would recommed the Dorsett Regency. Stayed at this property in July and was satisfied. New and clean rooms and very reasonable rates. Location in Kennedy Town is a bit far - you have to take the tram or taxi. Conrad Hong Kong is way too expensive.

Other Asian cities with Hilton properties: I would recommend BKK or KUL for Hilton properties with low rates; great value. Use the PR13CB code for a nice discount.

If you don't have to stay in Hong Kong island, you may also want to look into the hotels in Mongkok. It has tons of shopping centers in the district. When my relatives went to visit HK, they mostly stay at Mongkok on Kowloon side.

Conrad Hong-Kong has nothing to do with other hotels you listed as potentially interested in. if you are looking for cheap-ish getaway, look at Thailand. Conrad HKG is one of the best in HKG, and many time it is full. Many people prefer also to book it on points or points&cash, when the cost becomes very attractive.

You have to ask yourself this question. Do you have to stick with hilton? Conrad is right in the middle of the financial district. Thats one of the reason it is so costly

Just go on a hotels.com-type site and you will find hundreds of hotels in HK.

The fact that Hilton only has one hotel in HKG is definitely something I have great disappointment with. While I would love to stay with Hilton, my company will not pay the US$400+ per night to stay there. Combined with the fact that I often work at or near the airport, I end up at the Novotel CityGate most times.

That being said, I have stayed at the Conrad a few times and it's certainly fantastic. Even better if you can get lounge access with their fantastic view of the harbour. It's a truly wonderful hotel.
