Hello everyone,

I'm having a difficulty buying my ticket on line from Turkish airways using my AMEX card. I get a message "please fill in the credit card number field" Anyone encountered this before? I was told to add a 0 in front of the card number and I did without any luck. Any suggestions?
Thank you

Welcome to Flyertalk. I have moved your question to the Turkish Airlines forum, because this sounds as if it is a problem in the design of their website which other members may have encountered.

I primarily use my AMEX on the THY website. The only time I have issues is when Citi (it is a Citi brnaded Amex) decides the charge seems fraudulent and locks it down temporarily. I didn't have to put a 0 in front of the number or anything like that. The only other issue I had when using my Amex is when I went to try and get a refund once from their office. Becuase AMEX has a deal with Garanti Bank in Turkey and my AMEX is from Citi they told me I would have to wait months for my refund since it wasn't a Turkish AMEX.

I digress. You should be able to use your AMEX, but the THY site can be goofy sometimes.

Welcome to FT and the TK forum newfella :)

TK have had problems recently with their website but this should not affect the payment processing any longer. How soon is the flight? Payments via AMEX have to be completed 72 hours prior to the flight.

It seems the call center does not know about this problem. they asked me to email technical support when I called.

I hear many people having problems in paying with their AMEX cards over the TK website. The virtual POS provider they use (İşbank) seems to be pretty problematic with non-Turkish CCs. As suggested a call to TK CSC (Online/Internet Sales) might be of help. Good luck!

BEN as in Benghazi Libya? TK temporarily suspended online ticket sales from several destinations due a high degree of CC fraud. CC companies threatened them with fines and eventual suspension if they don't get their act together. They now use a program called CyberSource and are lifting these suspensions. In short TK's IT is crap. I would call TK or use the services of a travel agent if possible.

I tried to book through their center but they can't process AMEX transactions and the ticket was more expensive. I want to use my amex so i can accumulate enough aeroplan miles to get a cheaper domestic flight.

The only option that I can think of is to select 'Internet Sales' when calling the TK CSC line. They have been of help to me in the past in regard to Internet sales/refunds. Sorry. Once again, the best of luck!

Thank you. I called them and unfortunately couldn't offer any help.
