United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Why does UA route India only via FRA?
On my recent trip to India, I was thinking I'd look at getting there via SIN, BKK, or other Asia hubs and carriers, but both on UA.com and by calling the 1K desk, there was no way to coerce the system into doing it. I was hoping for DEN-SEA-NRT-BKK-BLR or something like that, but couldn't even get it to find the existing flights.
Anyone know why? Any recommendations for next time? It seems that flying the Asian partners would be much better than LH...

Is that an award or paid ticket?
How about...DEN-EWR-DEL/BOM?

DEN-SFO-ICN-DEL -- the last segment on OZ (but unable to get united.com to book??)

How about...DEN-EWR-DEL/BOM?Ah, yes, I had noticed that one, but was going to BLR, and couldn't find an way to get there using the United site. Yes, I could have gone to another airline to do it. But, the question remains: why TATL instead of TPAC?
DEN-SFO-ICN-DEL -- the last segment on OZNice find!
I used the *A site to try to find some of these, but it wasn't straight forward for me... I know you are much better at this kind of thing than I am... and I'm likely to head back in the next 6 months...

One need only look at the *A flights into BLR from the east
Outbound, it is a question of connecting time in the East/Southeast Asian city
SIN-BLR SQ departs 705A
SIN-BLR SQ departs 805P
BKK-BLR TG departs 920P
CTU-BLR CA departs 930P
To do the evening filghts, one would need to spend long day at CTU/BKK/SIN
To do the morning flight, one would need to overnight at SIN
For the return, it is easier:
BLR-BKK TG departs 1230A, arrive 530A
BLR-SIN SQ departs 1130P, arrive 605A
BLR-CTU CA deaprts 130A, arrive 840A
BLR-SIN SQ departs 945A, arrive 450P
You might consider DEN-EWR-DEL/BOM-BLR with the last segment on 9W, a UA non *A, partner

I imagine it has something to do with the JV with LH...
Regardless, I can issue a TPAC ticket USA-India on Amadeus without a problem.. It's probably UA's IT which is blocking it.

No - definitely try to fly on an AI flight which begins with numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, or 9. These flights allow you to do customs/immigration at the final destination, and BLR customs/immigration is far, far better than BOM or DEL's. Also, you don't have to switch terminals either ^

No UA miles on AI.

lol, true. But waiting for (and sitting on) on that crowded bus which runs between terminals at BOM every 30 mins is a torture which greatly dwarfs the couple hundred non-status miles you'd get out of flying 9W.

Sometimes UA miles are not worth the hassle. Especially when your talking about either so few miles anyway OR saving so much time / having a stress free flight
I discovered Kuwait Airs BKK-MNL flight a few months ago, sure I lose a few miles by not flying TG but the timing is better & they have a true first class. Sometimes those thing beat miles

Find your valid routing on matrix.itasoftware.com
Try to coerce ua.sux to book it with the multi-city option
