It seems they take a while to post the miles, but what counts as the activity date? The purchase date?

Yes, the activity date is the order date. It should take no longer than 8 weeks for the miles to post. If it does, fill out the missing purchase request form ( https://www.dividendmilesstorefront.com/contact____.htm ). I've been very disappointed in this new storefront, which just doesn't seem to work for me easily regardless of what computer/browser I use. I've had to email about missing miles for easily 75% of my storefront purchases. Eventually I get an email that they've confirmed the purchase with the vendor and posted the missing miles, but that fact that I have to chase them down is frustrating.

Storefront seldom has good deals (you usually get RDMs at 50-100cpm, which is VERY BAD). I usually get better "mileage" by using my CC online shopping mall.

i just purchased an app through it to keep my miles from expiring. For that purpose it should work I guess. Considering that there are stores like iTunes store there, you can make some miles - maybe not too much but - from your otherwise not mile earning purchases.

I made 2 storefront purchases from http://shop.nordstrom.com/ and each time miles posted within 3 days of purchase, even before the package came^

There was a offer for 500 miles for storefront application installation - these miles did not post and I had to follow up with them. I got an apology e-mail and these 500 miles posted 3 days later.
