What had happened to breakfast in F? I wouldn't feed this s#$%! to my dog.
Are they using powdered eggs now? It was disgusting. And the sausages? Why did they changed from the previous brand? They are not the same as the previous ones. They are so sweet that US should serve them as deserts!
What about that salsa-like thing? Another disaster.

I miss the old (before improvement) breakfast. Omelet with cheese, potatoes and sausages. Plain and simple. And it tasted waaay better.

For lunch I've got the same setup as most transcon flights. Except they've changed main dish. Asian chicken with rice and string beans.
WTH is US Airways obsession with sweet food??? Again, that chicken was so sweet that you could serve it as desert after the lunch.

The food US is serving in F is utter garbage.

I wouldn't go so far. On my last transcon, the shrimp cocktail was the best I had anywhere, including the sea-level restaurants. The desserts were also consistently good. But, in my experience, the main dish in domestic F has always been ... less than perfect.

Yesterday I've got exactly the same meal, with exception that my chicken was sweet and pink, and the cake was served after the tray was collected. (plus, I had my wine in real glass)

The funny thing was, that people eating spinach pasta/ravioli/lasagna were looking at people eating Asian chicken dish. And people eating chicken, were looking at people eating that vegetable dish (which looked like pile of orange vomit).

I have never complained about the food on US flights before. But this time it was disgusting.

I fly AA a bit more than I fly US, but have status on both. In FC, the domestic meal service is almost identical - AA has tablecloths and glassware which US usually doesn't but the meal choice is usually between vulcanized chicken in some form or fashion, or some kind of pasta, which may or may not be edible. Today's First Class isn't the same as that of 10 years ago, but it is still better than coach . . . .

I wish there were some better breakfast hour options for under 3 hour flights that don't get meal service. My frequent 2.5 hour morning flight gets the same snack basket every week, filled with cookies, potato chips, and pretzels. Can't US find a way to cater some more breakfast-appropriate items? Who wants chocolate chip cookies at 8am? Lately I've been seeing these new Bevita whole grain blueberry bars, which are a step in the right direction but frequently unavailable on my morning flights (though oddly they make more frequent appearances on my afternoon flight). If US is going to keep all flights under 3 hours as meal-free, then at least put some effort into providing some healthful, nutritious options, especially in the morning hours. Would it be that hard to fill a basket with options like granola bars and bananas?

I have been reading this thread since I will be flying US-A, TATL, shortly. Having done this TALT trip a few months ago I took note that the food on the flight FROM Europe was far better then the food FROM the USofA. Are we then looking at a food quality issue based on what the American suppliers of airline foods provide? Has American quality become substandard because of competitive pricing over quality? (in an effort to trim overhead prices and maximize profit)

I was on EWR-PHX today, options were the chicken and sweet potatoes mess or cheese tortellini. No olives in the tortellini- so maybe someone listened (although I can't recall ever having a pasta dish with olives in it). US F meals are still an improvement over UA F meals.

Maybe it's just the novelty, but the food on AA has been better than either UA or US in my experience. Just flew four legs this weekend in AA domestic F. They have pita chips and hummus (different flavors) and the cheese enchiladas were a first for me on a plane. The Cheese enchalida's are OK, US has a chicken tortilla soup that is first rate, just as good as some of the places here in PHX serves, and that is saying a lot. However, over all I give AA the better meal, then US, DL then UA... I have only flown two flights on DL that served a meal PHX-ATL-PHX and wasn't all that impressed with the service or meal. I wished US would offer more mexican food out of PHX, I would love egg's and Chorizo for breakfast kick it up some...

My point was to indicate that many frontline US employees still refer to the company by the name "USAir," not "US Airways." Why the constant need to point out the correct name of the company? We all know what airline we're talking about when people write "USAir." The childish personal attack isn't necessary.

Final entry

On this night Bob and Robert ate the last flesh of their deceased companions. One of the company then proposed that they should kill the two pilots, Lewis and Salvadore, who, it will be remembered, carried them through their journey to this point.

Desiring, however, to avoid extremities, if possible, he secretly informed Lewis of the fate that awaited him and his companion, and concluded by advising him to fly. Fly as fast as he could.

The expression of the face of Lewis, never can be forgotten; he did not utter one word in reply, but stood in mute astonishment. In about two minutes his features settled into sullenness, and he turned away to fly from the scene of danger, and into the Phoenix.

I'll never forget this flight.

Damn you Olive Tortellini. Damn you to hell.

I have just completed a TATL in Envoy. FRA-CLT - CLT-FRA. I am convinced that the catering company in the USA should be fired. Catering from FRA was much better. Had the 'signature' beef both ways. FRA beef was moist and not over cooked. Salads were very very nice with a nice appetizer. From CLT the beef was more a pot-roast consistency. Salad was just OK with a rather tasteless Caesar dressing. I will forgo wines when next I fly and stick to a cocktail. I do not like rubber eggs for breakfast and the cinnamon muffins were dry little balls. I think the FA was embarrassed to serve them.

If it's a money thing, add on an extra $15-$25 per each first class ticket and give me a meal. If I lived closer to EWR, instead of on the Main Line of Philadelphia, I'd fly UA just for the meal, considering F prices are usually comparable.
