Hi everybody :)
I just wanted to ask everybody which of these two hotels to recommend.
I will be staying 7 nights for my honeymoon. I am currently a platinum priority member, redeeming my hard earned points. (350k)
Also, what are the likely hood of an upgrade if any because im claiming points?
Do i go for the Intercontinental ambassador level or just stick with my platinum?
Which of the resorts is also the friendlier?
Love to hear your thoughts

Have you searched the forum? This question seems to come up a lot. A search on Thalasso brings up the following (plus a bunch more):

Ambassador seems like it would definitely be worth it.
It's your honeymoon, so if you want a guarantee to a great room, you will probably have to pay for it.
Congratulations, and enjoy Bora Bora!

I stayed at Le Moana and only visited Thalasso--but in my opinion:
1. Thalasso has much better views
2. Thalasso has nicer rooms with more modern amenities
3. Le Moana bungalows were nice but with a more Polynesian feel (which we liked)
4. Thalasso has very nice grounds and facilities
5. Le Moana is conveniently on the main island so you can walk to a market, nearby restaurants, etc.
6. At Thalasso, you're stuck within the hotel grounds unless you take a 20 min boat ride (free) to Le Moana and venture out from there.
For the same amount of points, I would choose Thalasso, unless you are a very active type and don't like to hang out in the resort all the time.
We were upgraded and treated very well with our Ambassador status at the Le Moana, but it was a paid stay. If your flight back to Papetee is in the late afternoon, the late check-out is nice to have.
Congrats and have fun!

La Moana is also lovely but for honeymoon go for Thalasso. Read through all the threads highlighted by TheBeerHunter.
I travelled all the way from Ireland and stayed at Thalasso for a week earlier this year. Amazing (especially when it was only 40,000 points!)

Thanks everybody
Ive actually emailed both hotels. Thalaso were really quick to respond (About 5 minutes) and they said if they had availability they would honour the upgrade. If I wanted to guarantee an upgrade I could pay for the difference.
La Moana just sent back the standard ’as per Priority club rules’ you cannot have upgrades or even late check-out.
Ive just booked Thalasso and am Thoroughly looking forward to my stay. :D

What email address did you use to email Thalaso? Thalaso has not answered any of my emails, but La Moana replied in 1 day.
Looks like Thalaso requires 20,000 more points per night.
What is the Priority Club rules that you cannot have late c/o? I know upgrades is based on availability, but why not late c/o?
Thanks.
