United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Seq 259 on a 108-seater B735, really?

Last week I came back from an Int'l trip that involves an LH codeshare flight on UA. The equipment was a B735. The strange thing is, I was assigned a sequence number 259 for this flight, which can hold no more than 108 people. Anyone knows why?

I believe Seq is tied to the flight number. It's very possible you were on the second or third leg of that "flight" for the day.

I think this is correct as I have experienced something similar.

Oh, that's the solution! @:-) I was indeed on such a flight. Flight 1233 BOS-IAH-AUS. Thanks!

Correct. It's the sequence number that you checked into ANY flight with that same flight number on that day. Given some flight numbers do 3 or 4 (or more?) flights in the one way - sometimes with at least one of them being a widebody - the numbers can be much higher than the number of people on a single flight.
