Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Question Re: TPP's Access To SilverKris Lounge When Travelling on Star Alliance Y

Most of my flights are with SQ so with a TPP status, I have no problem accessing the Silver Kris lounges. Recently, I had a flight in Y on an another Star Alliance airline & I went to a Silver Kris Lounge in Changi.

I was surprised that the lounge lady refused to allow me to enter and instead tried to re-direct me to the Krisflyer lounge. I thought as a PPS member, one is allowed to use the Silver Kris lounge even when travelling with another Star Alliance airline. I have done this before and as recent as a month ago, I did the same thing and no issue was made. I politely asked the lady to check and she came back with a more senior-looking lady who confirmed this policy and said it has been in force for a "long time".

Just so to confirm I am not losing my mind, could fellow PPS members share their experience? Has there been a change in policy? Thanks.

Sadly, this was changed during September 2007 revamp. PPS makes no difference unless you fly SQ/MI. Either you got lucky in the past or it was not in SIN. This distinction is for Silver Kris lounges in SIN only as it is the only location where Silver Kris lounges are not Star Gold lounges.

The First Class section of Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris Lounges worldwide is yours to use, regardless of your class of travel whenever you travel on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir

Thanks, TerryK. Have just requalified as TPP for another year ahead of schedule. Will let SQ know this policy is not good and should change! Thanks.
